Despite overnight temperatures dropping to the low 20's, "Occupy Murfreesboro" set-up more tents on the Civic Plaza. Police indicate that the cold sub-freezing temperatures dropped the numbers to three.
Officer Kyle Evans told WGNS News the three were issued citations...
On the WGNS Action Line, Murfreesboro Police Chief Glenn Chrisman noted that officers swear to uphold the rights granted by the constitution. They obviously are trying to make certain no rights are lost while at the same time making certain the public is safe. The city has huge floodlights over the tents and officers are at the site making certain that public safety is foremost.
The expansion of "Occupy Murfreesboro" is only tents and not people. Below freezing temperatures, heavy frost and rain have dwindled the number of campers from five on the first night, down to three overnight into Thursday. In reality, that number is now two, since outstanding warrants on one of those dropped the occupiers to two.
