A home break-in on Wednesday morning around 10:30 caused quite the scare for a homeowner. Two men broke into a home on Asbury Lane while the resident was upstairs. The resident quickly called the police and officers responded within minutes. The victim hid in an upstairs closet, waiting for police. When officers got to the address, they surprised the burglars getting into their vehicle. Officers gave chase down Asbury Lane and onto Medical Center Parkway and eventually past Sam’s Wholesale Club where the subjects hit a car and then fled the scene. The chase went to Old Fort Parkway and then to Gresham Lane. The pursuit came to an abrupt stop at the Gresham Lane – John Rice Boulevard intersection when driver Jeremy Marable, 19, and his 20-year-old brother, Julius, wrecked the minivan they were in. The two brothers crashed head on into another vehicle, sending two to the hospital. Jeremy and Julius then ran from the wrecked van on foot. Within seconds, police caught up with the two men and placed them in custody. The two brothers are now behind bars where they face a long list of charges including aggravated burglary and fleeing the scene of an accident. The men also face charges from a second burglary that was believed to have been committed by them earlier in the day.
