When 2012 hits the calendar, you can expect some new prosecution standards for criminals. Take child rapist for example, lawmakers created a minimum sentence of 25-years for such guilty subjects. In the worst case scenario, judges can also increase that sentence to as much as 60-years when 2012 rolls around. Persons who are caught firing a weapon at homes with people inside will also face stiffer penalties in 2012. Another law, that has received a lot of attention, is the voter photo ID law that will require voters to show a photo ID when they vote.
