“Whether your interests involve litter pick-ups, special projects, or annual events like the Greenway Art Festival, your involvement is welcome,” said Melinda Tate, Greenway Program Coordinator for Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation.
“Many groups and individuals contact the Greenway office throughout the year wanting to help, and through this meeting we hope to come up with a better way to direct volunteer efforts.”
Tate hopes to see a variety of interests represented at the meeting, including but not limited to running, biking, dog walking and river crafts.
Friends of the Greenway was established in 1996 by a group of individuals wishing to support the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department’s efforts to make the natural and historically significant areas surrounding the Greenway available for all citizens and visitors to fully enjoy now and in the future.
