Murfreesboro City Schools Director Dr. Linda Gilbert talks with ESL Teacher Sarah Chumney (English As A Second Language). She is a finalist fo rthe state teacher of the year award. In January, 2016, she was told that 30 ESL students would be arriving from a refugee group and to set-up a program to help these families become successful members of our society. She did it, and to make it more of a challenge--the families were very diverse (some from African countries, some from Middle East, etc.).
