Rutherford County Sheriffs Office Sgt. Michael Rodgers tells about the RUTHERFORD COUNTY TRAFFIC TASK FORCE. He noted, "Most traffic problems relate to drivers being in a hurry. Give yourself extra time to get to your destination."

He said there are two categories where TRAFFIC CONCERNS are the greatest:

RUTHERFORD COUNTY (rural areas)

• any place on the interstate
• Jefferson Pike
• Lascassas Pike
• Shelbyville Pike

MURFREESBORO (within city limits)

• Old Fort Parkway at Cason Lane
• I-24 at Fortress Blvd.

The RUTHERFORD COUNTY TRAFFIC TASK FORCE was formed this year and is comprised of the police departments serving Murfreesboro, Smyrna, La Vergne and Eagleville; Rutherford County Sheriffs Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol; MTSU Police, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
