With a background managing local, state, and federal projects as an archaeologist for a cultural resource management firm in Nashville, Jared knows what it takes to work within a budget to get the job done. Barrett is married to his wife Amber and they have lived here for over nine years with their dog Nathan. As a product of public schools, a mother who has taught for over 20 years, and as a former substitute teacher in grades K-12, Barrett knows the advantages a quality public education can on the community.
Barrett currently serves on the Rutherford County Board of Zoning Appeals and the Tennessee Council for Professional Archaeology. He is a lay minister with the Community of Christ and serves as chair of his church’s’ Building and Maintenance Committee. “I ask for your vote April 17th and I look forward to listening to the issues and concerns our teachers and parents have when it comes to Murfreesboro Schools,” Barrett said.
A meet and greet has been planned for February 23rd from 5-8 PM at the Blackman Community Club located on 4310 Manson Pike in Murfreesboro.
