Brian Wilcox, MD has been named as President, Ascension Medical Group Tennessee/Saint Thomas Medical Partners.
In this new role, Dr. Wilcox lead a group of over 600 Saint Thomas Medical Partners providers and will provide the clinical leadership necessary for the creation of innovative business and care models that deliver on achievement of the Quadruple Aim - high quality care, controlled costs, and improvement of patient and provider experience.
Wilcox will serve as Ascension Saint Thomas' lead physician executive overseeing service line development. Modeling after the success he's led within the cardiac service line, Dr. Wilcox will work with physician leadership across Ascension Saint Thomas to develop and integrate governance structures and strategic focus.

Wilcox has served Ascension Saint Thomas for over 26 years, beginning in 1994 as a cardiothoracic & vascular surgeon at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital. Under Dr. Wilcox's leadership, Ascension Saint Thomas Heart has excelled in patient outcomes and experience as well as provider satisfaction. Dr. Wilcox will also continue working as a cardiothoracic surgeon at Saint Thomas Midtown.
Wilcox earned his doctor of medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis followed by a residency and internship at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. He completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery from the University of Tennessee, Memphis.
