What’s better to coincide with the Jewish Songwriters Exhibit than for children to have a chance to hear some Jewish folk tales? Magda the StorySpider will be in the Children’s Area at Linebaugh Public Library on Tuesday, March 20, at 3 p.m. to share some special stories and then to lead families up to see the exhibit and special displays provided by the Center for Popular Music.

“This is a great opportunity to share a special part of our American history with our children” says Joan Hemphill, Youth Services Specialist at Linebaugh. “Combining Magda’s storytelling with a family tour of the exhibit will give children and their parents a deeper understanding of the background of these composers.”

A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, 1910-1965 was developed by Nextbook, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Jewish literature, culture, and ideas, and the American Library Association Public Programs Office. The national tour of the exhibit has been made possible by grants from the Charles H. Revson Foundation, the Righteous Persons Foundation, the David Berg Foundation, and an anonymous donor, with additional support from Tablet Magazine: A New Read on Jewish Life.
