Target reported a bizarre theft on Wednesday… An unknown man has been making his own barcode stickers, placing them on merchandise and then buying the item for a price that is far less than the retail price.

The barcode stickers are scanned at the point of purchase and the man is tricking the computer into allowing for merchandise to be sold at a lower cost. The man recently bought one item that sells for $399 for only $49. The subject is believed to have used the same scam at Target stores in Georgia and North Carolina.
