A bizarre theft hit a local woman this past week. The female told police she went to start her SUV and the check engine light came on. That same day, the victim told police that she had plans to take her Nissan to be tested at the auto emissions testing center on the New Salem Highway.  Representative there told her that her SUV had failed the testing procedure.

The victim then headed to her mechanic. It was there that she discovered that her two catalytic converters had been cut off and stolen.

There were no clues left behind at the crime scene on Twin Oaks Drive, so to date, no suspects have been named.
