$40,000 Worth of Copper Wire STOLEN in Rutherford County

Copper wire thieves are at it again in Murfreesboro. Unknown persons broke into a storage container owned by a local electrical contractor and stole rolls and rolls of copper wiring… to be more specific, $40,000 worth of copper wiring.

The criminals made their way into the storage trailer by cutting open the door with a sawz-all. That action alone caused $2,000 in damage. The trailer was parked at the construction site of a new apartment complex on Manson Pike called the Integra Creek Apartments.

So far police have little to go on and an arrest has not been made. The case has been turned over to detectives. Once a culprit is caught, they will face felony theft charges, felony vandalism charges and burglary charges.
