A 33-year old man who told police he was riding his bike through a Murfreesboro neighborhood on Huddleston Drive as a short cut to a friend’s house ended up being a suspect in a burglary. According to the victim, whose name we are not releasing, David Allen Brogan allegedly entered her garage and tried to open the door leading into the house. The victim, who was home at the time of the incident, called the police. Minutes later officers spotted Brogan riding his bike through the victims neighborhood.
Police investigated the allegations and eventually arrested Brogan and charged him with aggravated burglary. After he was arrested, police got a call that a bike was stolen from a home on Nielson Circle. The victim in that theft identified the bike that Brogan was riding as his and as a result police tacked on the charge of theft.
The culprit was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center under a $5,500 bond.
