The percent of positive COVID-19 cases in Rutherford County has taken a 1.3% drop in the last five days, according to the Tennessee Department of Health.
In the five day period from July 29th to August 2nd, of the 4,357 new test results, 13.2% were positive. That's down 1.3% from the previous five days' 14.5%. During that same period, the total 13 new hospitalizations. The number of active cases in the county during that five-day period increased by 52 to 2,781 as of August 2nd.
As of Sunday, there were 6,042 total cases of coronavirus reported. In the last seven days (from July 27th to August 2nd), there were four additioal deaths. That brings the total deaths to 51.
