You may have noticed the comments on social media suggesting Middle Tennessee Electric increased their rates after purchasing Murfreesboro Electric. However, WGNS has confirmed that is not true.
Amy Byers who was the public information officer at Murfreesboro Electric is now with Middle Tennessee Electric… WGNS asked Byers if rates increased after the merger:
On hot days when the heat index is 100 degrees or more, it will take more power to keep your home cool. Due to July being such a hot month, your HVAC system had to work harder to keep your house cool, even if you left the temperature setting the same as the previous month.
