(MURFREESBORO) If you've driven past Broad Street Centre at 1266 NW Broad Street, you have seen major renovations at most businesses and what City Codes called renovation of two new 30,000 square foot businesses. 

Studies show that the popular shopping center design now is the strip center as opposed to malls. Strip centers place business entrances on a sidewalk. Theoretically customers are able to park closer.

Crain Construction Company has removed what was once the K-Mart garden center and is now creating a sidewalk entrance for the two new massive "white box" facilities. 

The City noted that the complex is owned by Meridian from Fairfield, New Jersey, and the completion date on file at City Codes' is February, 2021. 

City Codes noted that a major furniture store would occupy one of the "white boxes", however--their local management could not comment and contact with the firm's out-of-state corporate offices was attempted several times. 

Some of the businesses already in the Broad Street Centre are Big Lots, Sky Zone, Dolar Tree, Cato Fashions. Out parcels on the parking lot include two restaurants and other structures.
