(NASHVILLE) Amber Sims has been promoted to serve as Senior Vice President, Strategy for Ascension, effective October 5th. Amber previously served as Chief Strategy Officer for Ascension Saint Thomas and has been a part of the ministry for almost 20 years.
Amber began her career with Ascension at Baptist Hospital, now Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown in 2001 and has since advanced through operations, clinical services and strategy roles. She served as Vice President of Saint Thomas Health Alliance from 2013 until 2015 when she became Chief Strategy Officer for the AScension Saint Thomas system.
During her time at Ascension Saint Thomas, Amber has played a critical role in the ongoing growth and success of the health system. She has been a key leader in the development of Ascension Saint Thomas’ ambulatory strategy and led the development of many strategic partnerships focused on expanding the footprint of the system across middle Tennessee. Amber also co-led, along with her colleague Nancy Anness, the first ever Medical Mission at Home that began in Tennessee and has since expanded across Ascension’s national ministries.
In her new role, Amber will work with the national Ascension Leadership Team in the creation of a single national strategic plan for Ascension, aligning their portfolio and investments to position the organization to further thrive into the future.
