(MURFREESBORO) While visiting Rutherford County on Thursday (10/8/2020), Secretary of State Tre Hargett told NewsRadio WGNS that state sales tax collections are showing "there is light at the end of the tunnel for the economy."
Secretary Hargett stressed that running state government in a conservative manner is working . . .
And when it comes to administering the federal goverment's Cares Act, Hargett had more positive news for the Volunteer State . . .
He was in Rutherford County presenting checks to three organizations. One was a Cares Act grant of $750 to the La Vergne Public Library; a $3,570 Cares Act grant to the Rutherford County Library System, along with a technology grant of $3,644 to the library's Technology Engagement Center, and an archives grant of $2,500 to the Rutherford County Archives on Rice Street.
Hargett explained . . .
You could say Christmas started in early October for Rutherford County during 2020 that will go down in history as "the year of the COVID-19 pandemic".
