Library Receives $7,214 In Grants

(MURFREESBORO) On Thursday (10/08/20) the Rutherford County Library System received two grants totaling $7,214. 

Library Director Rita Shacklett told NewsRadio WGNS that some of the money will be used to expand the WiFi coverage around the facilities.

The technology grant totaled $3,644.

Shacklett explained that the other was a CARES Act grant for $3,570.

The grants were presented at the Linebaugh branch of the Rutherford County Library System on West Vine Street, downtown next to City Hall. 

There are five branches of the Rutherford County Library System:

  • Linebaugh Public Library is located at 105 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro
  • Smyrna Public Library is located at 400 Enon Springs Rd. West in Smyrna
  • Eagleville Bicentennial Public Library is located at 317 Hwy 99E in Eagleville
  • MGL Library (Myrtle Glanton Lord) is located inside Patterson Park Community Center at 521 Mercury Blvd. in Murfreesboro
  • The Technology Engagement Center is located at 306 Minerva Drive
