(SMYRNA) Last Saturday (10/16/2020) Rutherford County Fire Rescue and Almaville Volunteers responded to a tractor trailer fire on eastbound (toward Chattanooga) I-24 near the 71 mile marker (between Almaville Rd./Nissan Blvd. and I-840).
When crews arrived the tractor trailer was fully engulfed in flames. A county tanker and tanker with man power support was supplied by Town of Smyrna Fire Department.
Rutherford County Chief Larry Farley said, "Great teamwork by all responding departments resulted in the fire scene being quickly mitigated and made safe."
Farley concluded, "Fortunately no one was injured and the tractor trailer was not carrying hazardous materials."
