Rockvale High School and Stewarts Creek High School now have reopening dates, after being shut down due to the concern of COVID-19 numbers and a lack of substitute teachers. The Rutherford County Schools main office has planned for the reopening dates of both schools based on the quarantine forecast for each school.
Rockvale High School will reopen for in-person learners on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and Stewarts Creek High School will reopen for in-person learners on Friday, Nov. 6.
All schools are closed on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, due to elections.
Previous to the three high schools moving to distance-learning, they were experiencing an increased number of students and staff members who were on quarantine. However, one of the main factors for the temporary closure is the school substitute teacher fill rate, which is currently only 44%. So the schools had to close for a few days to allow time for recovery.
