(MURFREESBORO)  The downtown development of the square block of land that was once First Methodist Church is still alive, but appears to be without a boutique hotel franchise. 

Reliable sources indicate that the retail and residential spaces have sold well, but the hotel has hit a snag.

One of the proposed uses for the old church sanctuary was to be the hotel's lobby. There were other uses that were discussed earlier, but with the challenges of the hospitality industry, the plans are very fluid.

In addition, there are reported talks of using the old Sunday School section as office space at the present time.
