The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce reports an improvement in county unemployment numbers across the state and locally.

Rutherford 5.4%

Davidson 7.5%
Shelby 9.9%
Rutherford County's percentage is lower than the State unemployment rate of 6.2%. The Chamber noted, "An encouraging sign is the continued decrease in claims; Rutherford County reported 7.5% in August. Our COVID peak was at 16.7% in April with pre-COVID (March) at 2.4%."
