(SMYRNA, TN) The storms that swept through this area March 25-29, 2021, caused heavy damage in the town of Smyrna. 

Smyrna Fire Department personnel have been supporting Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency in assessing damage from the recent weather events.

The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down around Rock Springs Road and I-24 on Thursday evening (3/25/2021) and damaged around two dozen homes. Then the county was pelted with 4-days of torrential rain. 

“It’s terrible you don’t really think it’ll ever happen to you, but take my word, it does,” resident Faye Adams told News 2.

Smyrna officials have written reports on 75 homes/properties that were impacted by wind, tornado, or flooding.
