Talks of what to do with proceeds from the sale of Murfreesboro Electric to Middle Tennessee Electric continue.

The Community Investment Study Group will meet Wednesday, May 12, 2021, to continue developing recommendations on best management of MED Proceeds. The special committee will meet at 4:00 p.m. at the Murfreesboro Airport, 1930 Memorial Blvd., in Murfreesboro, 37129.

Investing the funds and even establishing a grant type program with a portion of the money are two of the things that have been mentioned thus far. 

The total transaction adds up to about $300-million over a 15-year periord.
