(SMYRNA, TN) The investigation continues into the crash of a Cessna C501 jet that took-off from the Smyrna Airport around 11:00 o'clock Saturday morning and then disappeared from radar. Boaters on the Percy Priest Lake near the Fate Sanders Recreation Area saw the plane go into the water.

Again, the issue that concerns Williams the most is that the problem with the aircraft could have been so catastrophic and happened so quickly that the pilot never had an opportunity to radio for help.
