Many ask, what is Pickle Ball?



This fun sport combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.

Folklore tells us the name of the game came from the family that first thought up the sport. Reportedly, the family had a dog named Pickles who kept stealing their ball as they played, which gave them the idea to call the game “Pickle Ball.”

The upcoming tournament this weekend will be played at the Patterson Park Pickleball Court, which is outdoors.

For those wanting to learn more about Pickleball, there is an instructional class held at Sports*Com every Thursday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
