With the week half-over, Rutherford County Fire-Rescue has already had two home fires and a trailer truck blaze. In addition, Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue has answered two home fire calls.
Big Rig Blaze
The fire with the semi happened around 5:30 Tuesday (6/22/2021) morning on I-24 between Buchanan Road and Beechgrove. It was in the westbound lane (toward Nashville) at mile marker 93. The semi-driver unhooked the trailer in order to prevent it from catching on fire as well. The driver was not injured during the incident. In addition to Rutherford County Fire-Rescue, Christiana Fire Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol also responded.
Shrewsbury Rd. Home/Total Loss
On Monday afternoon (6/21/2021), Rutherford County Fire-Rescue were called to Shrewsbury Road. Captain Adam Rose reports that heavy smoke and flames were showing as the first unit rolled onto the scene. He said the home is a total loss. A family of four and two pets made it to safety. The Heart of Tennessee chapter of the American Red Cross is helping the family. In addition to Rutherford County Fire-Rescue, assisting at the fire were Rutherford County Sheriffs Office, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, Almaville Fire Department, and Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department.

Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue were called to a Friday night home fire in the Breckenridge subdivision, as well as a Sunday morning blaze at 1411 Huntington Dr.
