(MURFREESBORO) And now the “rest of the story” on the teen who basically walked away after driving under a semi-trailer truck Thursday morning (9/23/2021) on NW Broad Street.
The lone person in the white Chevy Impala with the shaved-off roof was a teenager. He instinctively leaned over into the passenger seat just seconds before the crash.
As a results, he miraculously walked away from the crash scene with scratches. He walked on his own to the paramedic’s stretcher for a quick check-up.
The teen did walk away with one more item, a traffic citation for driving without a license.
Surveillance video from a nearby auto dealer showed the tractor-trailer truck pull across NW Broad. That’s when the car slammed under the side of the trailer. The crash was near Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The driver of the big rig was a cited with failure to yield.
The investigation by the Murfreesboro Police Department found that even if the teen had applied his brakes instead of leaning to the passenger’s side, that the wet streets would not have allowed him to stop the car.
