The Hiram Squires Masonic Riders recently had a benefit ride for the Tennessee Fisher House Foundation. The group raised over $8000 on a rainy Saturday between Murfreesboro and Common John Brewery in Manchester with several stops in between.
Tennessee Fisher House is a “Home away from Home” for families of Veterans undergoing treatment at the Alvin C. York Veterans Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Families from 50 miles away or more from Murfreesboro are provided lodging in one of the 12 Suites and meals (self-prepared or by volunteers or gift cards). Each suite has private bathrooms; television; computer; a sitting area in a secured room. There are washers and dryers in the Fisher House. The House does have a dining room, a family room, and a living room setting. Outside the Tennessee Fisher House are rocking chairs, a gazebo, and walkways with benches for resting and meditation.
