Middle Tennessee State University has removed their mask mandate that was issued in the height of the COVID Pandemic. The requirement of mask being worn inside campus facilities officially came to a close on Wednesday, November 10th.

Reports indicate the mandate ended, due to the reduced number of individuals with COVID-19 and the increased number of those who have received the vaccination throughout our community.

Despite the closure of the mandate, MTSU is continuing to encourage students, staff and visitors to wear mask as circumstances warrant.

The local university is also encouraging students and MTSU employees who have not been vaccinated, to consider taking this precaution.

MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee stated, “Getting the vaccine reduces your risk of infection and, if you do contract COVID-19, it makes it milder and shorter in duration. Getting vaccinated decreases the risk of you spreading the virus to others.”
