(MURFREESBORO) With temperatures near 60, all ages gathered around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse to talk with Santa and watch the lighting of our county's Christmas tree.
It also gave residents an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping at several downtown merchants, eat dinner, as well as either enjoying "Elf, the musical" which opened at the Center for the Arts, or drive-through the free Christmas lights at Cannonsburgh Village.
In addition to the festive holiday activities on the Murfreesboro square, Fleet Feet Sports' FROSTY FUN RUN is at Hop Springs on the John Bragg Highway Saturday (12/4/2021) starting at 10:00AM, the Smyrna Christmas Parade is at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Oaklands Mansion's Christmas dinners continue Saturday evening, plus Christmas plays are also underway in Smyrna at Springhouse with "The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever", and in Woodbury at the Arts Center with "From Charley, A Christmas Carol".
Yes, tis the season to be jolly, and Main Street Murfreesboro's gala on the town square Friday night did a jump-start for the season!
Santa is in the courthouse lobby for photos, and of course, the new museum in the historic structure is open to the public as well. There are plenty of family activities throughout the area. Check the WGNS' Good Neighbor Events Calendar
