A Tornado Watch has been issued for Rutherford County until 2AM. Strong to severe storms are expected late this evening through Saturday morning. Damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and hail are all possible with storms.

A strong cold front will bring with it the threat of strong to severe thunderstorms late tonight (Friday) into early tomorrow morning.

The Storm Prediction Center has the western half of Rutherford County in a level 3 of 5. It's 2 of 5 for the eastern half. All of that to say forecasters expect storms to roll through the area between 4-6am with the primary threats being damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and hail.

Have at least two ways to wake up overnight to any watches and warnings that could be issued for the area.
