Two Murfreesboro Police officers were injured after being attacked by a man with a box cutter. The incident occurred as the man threatened to take his own life, according to the MPD.

The officers were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries after the situation unfolded on Friday afternoon around 2.

Authorities confirmed the suspect is now in custody.

The incident happened at an apartment complex on Indian Park Drive and the Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.
