Sat. (May 21, 2022) 9:00AM-3:00PM   SHOWIN' OFF FOR SHELBY at Family Worship Center (3045 Memorial Boulevard) is a car show to raise money to battle the epidemic of drug and alcohol addiction. Organizer Dennis Jordan has teamed with local non-profit Steered Straight, Inc. to help this cause.  Steered Straight founder Michael DeLeon presents his anti-drug abuse story to students, inmates, law enforcement, educators and parents about the dangers of drug and alcohol use. The CDC reports that there were over 100,000 drugs overdose death in the U.S. in 2021. Over 60 per cent of those were from opioids and fentanyl.
