(SMYRNA, TN)  Here is a traffic alert for motorists in the Smyrna area. A contractor plans to begin setting beams on the Jefferson Pike bridge over the Stones River this Tuesday, March 1.

Work is scheduled between 9am and 3pm, and will impact traffic flow as beams are staged, moved onto the bridge, and set in place.

Anticipate slow movement in the area, intermittent lane reductions, and intermittent closures (lasting approximately 10 minutes).

Smyrna Mayor Mary Esther Reed commented,  "Thank you for your patience as work continues on a project that will make this roadway safer for our community. Please travel with caution for your safety and the safety of construction personnel."
