A car crash that occurred just after 3PM on Wednesday afternoon shut down West Buckeye Bottom Road near near Sulphur Springs Road. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office reported the crash knocked down a utility pole that fell across the roadway.

Middle Tennessee Electric Crews had to be called to the scene to remove and replace the pole between the 6500 and 7100 block of West Buckeye Bottom Road. Power was lost to several homes in the area of where the pole was hit. Deputies responded to re-route traffic.

There is no word yet on how the crash occurred or if anyone was seriously injured.
