Today on the show, WGNS' Scott Walker spoke to those who make a difference in our community with a non-profit organization called Barnabas Vision. We talked about their ongoing Back to School 'School Supply Drive'.
Our guest included Hillary Hodges and David Coggin.
DETAILS: Local non-profit Barnabas Vision is collecting school supplies for students in need throughout the community. Some of the items they are encouraging others to donate include: pencils, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, school supply boxes, binders, markers, highlighters, erasers, notebooks, paper, colored pencils and folders.
You can donate items by dropping them off at the Barnabas Vision Office in Murfreesboro on MTCS Drive, or donate money through Venmo (@barnabas-vision). You can also donate funds for staff to purchase school supplies by visiting their office or mailing in a check. Residents have up until July 25, 2022 to drop off new school supplies or financial donations for school supplies.
All of the school supplies that are collected will be distributed to local school students who live at one of our local housing complexes in the community. There, Barnabas will hand out a total of 50-backpacks prepared for elementary school students and 50-backpacks that are being prepared for middle and high school students.
