Frisbee golf has been a popular hobby for local residents, which is why there are three courses in Rutherford County. One course is at Barfield Crescent Park in Murfreesboro, a second is located in Smyrna at Sharp Springs Park and the newest course sits near the entrance of the Central Valley Greenway Trail on Central Valley Road in Murfreesboro.

Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Thomas Laird talked about the newest disc golf course on land that was once the Coleman Farm… Laird also told WGNS about a Greenway trail extension in that area… Once that extension is completed, there will be about 3.5-miles of trail along the Stones River between Walter Hill and Central Valley.

The Central Valley Trailhead is roughly one-mile north of Highway 231 on an unnumbered stretch of Central Valley Road (on the map, it is between the addresses of 1161 and 1171 Central Valley Rd., Murfreesboro, TN).

Need more details? You can see the current Murfreesboro Greenway Trail map HERE. The paved trail follows the Stones River, crossing under Interstate 24, Highway 96, Highway 99 and NW Broad Street along Lytle Creek. The second portion of the paved trail sits in the area of Walter Hill and crosses under Highway 231 and goes to the Central Valley Trailhead along Central Valley Road in Murfreesboro.
