(SHELBYVILLE, Tenn.) Just 15 to 20-minutes down Highway 231 South in Shelbyville, a month long murder investigation has come to a close with the arrest of a Davidson County man.
The Shelbyville Police Criminal Investigation Division has arrested Mohamed Miray of Nashville, Tennessee. The 31-year-old was arrested this past week and booked into the Bedford County jail. Miray was charged with Criminal Homicide for the shooting death of Rafael Mendoza-Pineda. The 43-year-old man was shot and killed at Davis Estates Apartments on August 26, 2022. Evidently, shots were heard just before the lifeless body of Mendoza-Pineda was located in a foyer of the apartments where he lived.
After the arrest was made, the Shelbyville Police Department thanked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, Metro Nashville Police Department, and the US Marshal Service for their assistance in this tragic case.
