UPDATE: Smyrna Shooting, 17-Year Old In Custody

(SMYRNA) Here's an update on the Friday (10/14/2022)  evening shooting at an apartment near Smyrna High School. Police have arrested a 17-year old male in connection with the shooting that occurred around 5:00 o'clock in the Ridgemont Park Apartments. 

According to Smyrna police, an argument began between a father and his son who just returned to the complex.

Another teen, a 17-year old reportedly living in the apartment, fired a gun several times and two shots hit the adult male.

Reports from a witness claim that they were outside when a teen ran outside screaming, "You killed my papa".

A 17-year old has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, posesssion of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and juvenile posession of a handgun. 

The adult male was rushed to the ER at StoneCrest Medical Center.

This is an active investigation, and the condition of the adult male has not been released.
