(RUTHERFORD COUNTY) Get ready for a hard freeze on Tuesday. WGNS' Weatherology forecasters say to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
Meteorologist Jennifer Wojcicki warns that frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Take steps to prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes. They should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
In Rutherford County, temperatures on Monday (10/17/2022) night going into Tuesday will dip to a low around 28-degrees. In fact, across the mid-state, sub-freezing temperatures between 24 to 32 expected.
Again, WGNS encourages you to winterize your home on Monday, in preparation for the freezing conditions that are forecast Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday.
