(Rutherford County, TN) The announcement to end the annual JazzFest on the Rutherford County Square was made this past year - - which means the concert that took place in May was the grand finale for the yearly event. However, some believe it’s not time to drop the curtains just yet. Several residents have decided to discuss the idea of continuing the event, but in a new setting.
Rutherford County School Board Chair Tammy Sharp told WGNS NEWS… At this point, Sharp said she doesn’t know if the JazzFest will be saved by the school board, or by members of the community… Local residents who want to see the continuation of JazzFest plan to meet at 2 o’clock on Friday (01/06/23) to devise a plan of action…
JazzFest has been held on the Murfreesboro square for more than 25-years and over that time, bands from local schools have performed at the concert annually. Now, local residents want to continue that tradition, suggesting the concert has been a positive for area students who have a love for music.

Members of the public are welcome to attend (details below).
