Rutherford County Sheriffs’ Deputy Nathan Smith saved the life of a shooting victim outside a local bar. The deputy heard gun shots and found a man in the parking lot with wounds to his abdomen. He immediately applied a chest seal to stop the bleeding, and saved the man’s life. Deputy Smith was also honored with the Jerry Anderson Hero Award presented at the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. breakfast.
