Forty-five teachers will be honored among their peers and families on March 27 after being selected as the Teachers of the Year for Rutherford County. Each school each selects a Teacher of the Year annually. From those teachers, the district selects three as the grade-level winners, one from elementary, middle and high school. Those three teachers will then proceed as Rutherford County’s representatives in the regional and state Teacher of the Year recognition program. The Tennessee Teacher of the Year will be named next fall. A reception for the Rutherford County Teachers of the Year will be held on March 27 beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro with Director of Schools Don Odom presiding.
