(SMYRNA, TN) The 17-year old Smyrna High volleyball champion continues to heal after having both legs amputated as a result of a speeding car pushing a vehicle into her. There will be a benefit for Janae Edmondson at 6:00 o'clock this Wednesday (4/5/2023) evening in the gym at Smyrna High School.
Smyrna Mayor Mary Esther Reed stated, “Janae is facing a long road to recovery and we want to sustain her through her journey. I encourage our community to attend the benefit and continue to support Janae and her family during this time.”
It will honor Janae who was critically injured February 18th in St. Louis. The event is sponsored by the Mid TN Volleyball Club and The Town of Smyrna.
Mid TN Volleyball Director Rhonda Ross noted, “We are thankful to report that her condition, though serious, is now stable. We at MID TN Volleyball Club are asking our community to pray for Janae, her family and teammates.”
Those who attend Wednesday night are encouraged to wear purple. Businesses in the area to light their business in purple in support of Janae.
