Rutherford County Mayor Joe Carr interacts with residents on local issues: 

• Property tax increase is on horizon due to State's General Assembly decision not to allow Rutherford County to control its "development tax". 
• MIDDLE POINT LANDFILL will be full in approximately 2-years, according to Mayor Carr. 
• County School Board voted to approve CHARTER SCHOOLS (non-metro counties around the area voted against it). Mayor says with 10,000 new students coming to county schools each year, the Charter schools would not take away from a need for Public Schools.
