Murfreesboro Young Professionals (“MYP”) announced the creation of the MYP Alumni Association this week, which will help connect existing members with former members who live and work in this community. Anyone interested in the MYP Alumni Association Members is invited to a Meet & Greet at the MYP Social on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., at Arrington Vineyards. This event is a come-andgo event that is free and family friendly.
Founded in 2011, MYP is a membership-driven nonprofit organization, aimed at creating a unique community for young professionals to develop personally, professionally, and civically. Membership is open to young professionals, ages 21 to 40, who live and/or work in Murfreesboro. Any active member who exceeds the age of 40 “graduates” and is no longer eligible for membership in the program.
“For a while, it seemed that not many members had graduated (exceeded the age of 40) because we had only been around for a handful of years,” said 2023 MYP Chair Scott Kimberly. “But we now have a large number of former members who are active in the community, and we are excited to provide this new opportunity to our members to connect, both old and new.”
Over the years, MYP has generated tens of thousands of dollars in charitable giving for Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, and Middle Tennessee, which would not be possible without the support of its annual sponsors. In 2023, annual sponsors include Pinnacle Financial Partners, the Blue Raider Athletic Association, Redstone Federal Credit Union, Ascend Federal Credit Union, and the Law Office of W. Scott Kimberly.
The MYP Alumni Association asks for a minimum annual donation of $50.00, but alumni are encouraged to contribute more if desired, as every dollar raised supports the mission and vision of this organization.
