MURFREESBORO, TN - There was a two-vehicle auto accident on Monday afternoon that slowed traffic on South Church Street. The wreck occurred in front of the Innsbrook Kroger Store, which happens to be within eyesight of Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Station 2. Murfreesboro Police Officers responded to the collision at 3:41 p.m.
Preliminary reports from the MPD indicate a female driving a silver Toyota Corolla was leaving the Kroger parking lot and attempting to cross over three lanes of traffic on S. Church Street. At the same time, the male driver of a blue Toyota Camry collided into the side of the Corolla.
The female driver of the Corolla had to be extricated by Murfreesboro Firefighters. Once freed from the wreckage, she was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The male driver and a male passenger in the Camry were not injured in the accident.
The crash is under investigation.
