(MURFREESBORO)  We're on the doorsteps to the Memorial Day weekend--the official beginning of summer and the opening of the outdoor pool at SportsCom (AKA "The 'Boro Beach"). The blood supply at the American Red Cross is already low, and now summer vacations are almost here. Your "gift of life" is needed.  Phone 800-RED-CROSS and schedule a time to give blood that best fits your schedule. The Murfreesboro Red Cross is at 501 Memorial Blvd. 

In addition, the American Red Cross has seen a recent drop in blood and platelet donation appointments. As people travel over the Memorial Day holiday, a further decrease can be expected. 

The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross needs people to book a time to give now to ensure blood is available the moment patients need it.
